Halo 5: Guardians gameplay launch trailer debuts, game will take 60GB of Xbox One's storage

After releasing two live-action launch trailers for Halo 5: Guardians, Microsoft has debuted the gameplay launch trailer for the upcoming Xbox One-exclusive shooter. The game itself debuts in stores on October 27.

The trailer shows a mix of gameplay and cut-scenes from Halo 5, showing that Master Chief, for some reason, has gone rogue and is now being hunted by Spartan Locke and his team. The video has a ton of action and impressive looking set pieces from the campaign, which can be played alone or with up to three other players in co-op online.

Meanwhile, a leaked image of the Halo 5 disc box found its way to the NeoGAF forums, showing that the game will take up to 60GB of space on an Xbox One's hard drive. That means hardcore gamers who don't have a lot of space on their local drive might want to spend some money on an external hard drive to play the game.

  • Looks like a disc I'll have to buy, only because of Comcast's terribly implemented data cap in my area... grr...
  • Man that sucks...
  • Knowing MS the day 1 patch will be 20gb
  • Because Microsoft makes Halo. K.
  • Technically they kind of do...
  • It's 40GB on the Xbox Store. WindowaCentral can check this for themselves instead of quoting Neogaf...a Playstation site.
  • It may include a day 1 update of 20gb. Just saying.
  • I have a 2 terabyte drive, so I'm good! Just cannot wait to jump back into the world of halo. It's really the only multiplayer game I play!
  • I heard load times are faster with external?
  • Yea that's correct Posted via the Windows Central App for Android
  • EGADS! But I shouldn't be surprised at all this due to uncompressed files in each game.
  • That's fine. I'll just download it
  • Slowly, slowly. One day I'll definately buy Xbox One with Halo. As a student it's pretty hard to collect enough money to take my girlfriend out for dinner.
  • Fck school
  • Lol my pain is felt elsewhere? Yessss Posted via the Windows Central App for Android
  • Girlfriends are a wallet drain
  • Well I did have more money without her but I would change her even for a million.
  • @dda_k, you mean wouldn't, riight? :p lol.
  • You would be wise to edit your statement. Women can exact a toll from those they wish to.... Punish. Trust me on this, a simple mistype wont save you.
  • When I was a student I took my girlfriend, my wife now, out to dinner, movies, paid for her vices, bought her a cellphone, paid the bill, paid a car note and insurance and paid my tuition. There wasn't enough disposable income for an xbox for me either, however she is more fun than an Xbox could ever be ;)
  • Start cooking, women love that stuff...
  • I have tried, I'm not the best cook you can find :D
  • Keep cooking, you'll get better.
  • Any good 2tb external drives?
  • Xbox Seagate one is fine
  • I like the WD Passport Ultra
  • Pretty much any external hard drive that meets the specs (USB 3.0, >500GB) wld work. I got a Seagate a couple months back & haven't had any issues or lag
  • Worth it I say
  • We could also just very well delete the MCC from the HDD freeing up space...Of course, you could also just delete games you aren't playing at all too, like demos and other discs, because they'll always be there waiting to DL again. Some I've just hidden, like the terrible Thief which I got misguidedly... =\
  • That's why disks are good, prevents those spontaneous purchases! Lol. Well.. Somewhat.
  • Well lunch is over. I got a job to do.
  • Halo 5 is looking pretty good
  • I can't wait for this Posted via the Windows Central App for Android
  • That 500 Gig hdd is looking mighty small now lol. Good thing that we can use an external and that pretty much all recent bundles are now 1Tb.
  • Super hyped!
