What you need to know

  • Halo Infinite multiplayer has a faux loading screen in the form of a video that just finishes playing before loading you to the start screen.
  • The video can be replaced as long as you follow a few simple steps, and the results can be hilraious.
  • Fans have already gotten creative with the process and are making their entry into the game a lot more interesting.

Developers have always found ways to disguise the loading times in games, the most popular of which is a particularly long elevator ride. 343 Industries employed such a tactic for players who log into the PC version of Halo Infinite multiplayer by giving them a loading screen in the form of the 343 Industries logo.

However, tech savvy Twitter user @jasonlamb has discovered that the loading screen is just a video that can be replaced to play any video your heart desires. He illustrates it by replacing the bland loading screens with one of the most iconic movies in movie history.

In addition, there is no limit to how long the video could be, but keep in mind, you can't play Halo Infinite until the video finishes playing, so you might want to avoid going overboard.

Jason has shared the steps on doing this on Steam Community. All you really need is an MP4 file.

  1. Go into your files.
  2. Access videos by going SteamLibrary -> steamapps -> common -> Halo Infinite -> videos
  3. Replace Startup_Sequence_Loading.mp4 with any video you'd like.
  4. Make sure your new video is also named Startup_Sequence_Loading.mp4.

Here is another instance of how you can enrich your Halo Infinite multiplayer experience by creating your loading screen of choice.

Unfortunately, the method is exclusive to the PC version of Halo Infiniite multiplayer, so console players will have to stick to the good ol' fashioned loading screen.
