Lenovo today introduced the new IdeaPad S540 as part of an overall set of updates to its consumer lineup ahead of IFA 2019. The IdeaPad S540 comes in a pretty sleek looking chassis, but it's the updates to the inside that are the real highlight here.

Following up on Intel's launch of its 10th Gen chips for laptops earlier this month, the IdeaPad S540 is jumping on the bandwagon. You'll be able to equip the S540 with a range of 10th Gen CPUs, running from the Core i3-10110U on the low end to the six-core Core i7-10710 at the top end, all of which include Wi-Fi 6 (802.11ax) and built-in Thunderbolt 3. Lenovo also claims up to 16 hours of battery life, which should get your through most days of work or school without a problem.

The IdeaPad also comes with optional NVIDIA GeForce MX250 graphics, which will give you a decent performance boost over the integrated Intel UHD graphics. The 13-inch display comes in at a QHD resolution, and you can equip the laptop with up to 16GB of RAM and up to 1TB of SSD storage.

Finally, your port selection is rather slim with two USB-C ports and one USB 3.1 Gen 1 port.

The Lenovo IdeaPad S540 is expected to launch in October with prices starting at $999. The laptop will be available in three color variants: Ice Blue, Light Silver, and Frost White.
