Microsoft to ring in the start of Nasdaq's Fit Week on Jan. 4

To mark the start of Nasdaq's Fit Week, Microsoft's General Manager of Personal Devices, Zulfi Alam, will ring the opening bell on January 4. Of course, Microsoft was given the honor because of its work with Microsoft Health and the Microsoft Band, with Nasdaq stating:

Microsoft Corporation, (Nasdaq:MSFT) Microsoft Band and Microsoft Health will visit the Nasdaq MarketSite in Times Square. Microsoft Band is the first device powered by Microsoft Health that helps achieve wellness goals by tracking heart rate, steps, calorie burn, and sleep quality. The visit will kick off Nasdaq's 5th annual "Fit Week" - from January 4th to January 8th, 2016 - featuring companies that help individuals lead healthier lifestyles during bell ceremonies.

Nasdaq says that Microsoft is one of a host of companies doing work in the fitness arena that will ring either the opening or closing bell during Fit Week. Nasdaq also plan's to highlight each company on its social feeds where they will give tips for living a healthy lifestyle in 2016.

Thanks, Richard S., for the tip!
