Minecraft Dungeons, the ARPG dungeon-crawling addition to the growing Minecraft universe, has added a ton of new content and updates since its launch. Most recently, the game just launched the Howling Peaks DLC alongside a new Season Pass, which includes Howling Peaks and three other unannounced expansions. To get into the holiday spirit, Mojang Studios is taking advantage of the Trials feature added in a previous update, which allows existing maps to be augmented and changed with new challenges, missions, and more.

The Chills and Thrills seasonal event takes advantage of these Trials with a series of unique challenges in exchange for exclusive rewards. This even includes a new armor type with the Arctic Fox armor and other new items and gear. The Chills and Thrills event begins December 18, 2020, and lasts until December 30. Players will have that time to complete all the event Trials and unlock all of the rewards on offer here.

Minecraft Dungeons isn't a perfect game, by any means, but the steady stream of new content has been refreshing, and the game is a lot of fun with friends. Most notably, the game also leads the pack on our list of Best Games for Xbox Cloud Gaming (Project xCloud) for its style of gameplay, its integrated touch controls, and how easy it is to jump into the game.

It's been a busy first year for Minecraft Dungeons, and now the ARPG dungeon-crawling Minecraft spin-off is looking ahead towards its future, with four new expansions planned. The first one, Howling Peaks, is available right now, but players can also grab the new Season Pass to gain immediate access to all four expansions as soon as they launch.
