Nokia Music updated to 2.1 with minor changes

Nokia has released an updated for their Nokia Music Windows Phone app, which is available to Lumia handset owners. The music streaming app was recently bumped to version 2.0 and introduced a few UI and audio improvements. Fast forward to 2.1 and we've got a published change log detailing the following:

  • Overall performance and responsiveness
  • Nokia Music Unlimited – only available in selected countries and on certain devices
  • Controls for shuffle and repeat in the music player

Controls for shuffling and repeating tracks from your music library have been added in the top-right corner. Further improvements to the UI and layout of the app are also noticeable. Do note that some features are only available in some countries, and supported markets may not be able to download the app itself.

You can download Nokia Music from the Nokia collection of OEM apps on the Marketplace (Lumia handsets only).

  • Am I the only one who cant access the nokia music app? Is this only avaliable outside the USA? :S
  • I can't get it in US either.
  • Hello. I've the Lumia 800 living in Denmark. I've the latest 12070 firmware and can't get this app either.
  • With the same specs in Finland, got an update notice and had it installed without a problem.
  • They must be screwing around with some regional settings because on 2.0 I had Mix Radio and on 2.1 I no longer have it.
    Unlocked Lumia 800 in Spain.
  • I think it was mentioned in an early post this app isn't for US consumption, yet.
  • For those that have won Lumias from Microsoft/Nokia in developer competitions so forth, Nokia Music will not be available on your phone.
  • This is for countries that don't yet have good Zune pass coverage,so why would us here in the US want this?
  • Because it's pretty much like Zune pass but FREE lol
  • It's not the same really. It's like Pandora, but totally free and no ads at all.

Myself love the app. Replaced Zune as my music player as well. It's the reason i would get another Windows Phone.
It also shows the most bought songs on your region, nearby concerts and so on.
  • I'm in South Africa on my Lumia 800 and I'm downloading it right now. It seems to me that y'all just want to download stuff even when it is not useful to you lol. Here we don't have the Zune pass service so it's only normal that we get this update.
  • Or folks just want options....just a thought.
  • I am in the US and can;t find Nokia Music either...I have a Lumia 900
  • here in AUS, i have access to both Zune Pass and just got the update to the Nokia Music app - Lumia 800 with Telstra
  • When wil we have this in US, will prefer this over Zune pass.
  • Unlimited?
