Unique Autosport is a popular automotive detailing, customization company that offers everything from custom wheels to audio systems to custom painting to custom graphics. They are now offering cases for Windows Phones.
The top loading, leather case is adorned with the companies "UA" logo and sports a rotating belt clip. A magnetic flap folds over the top of your Windows Phone to keep the phone securely in place.
We took a closer look at the Unique Autosports vertical case with the Samsung Focus. To see how it shook out, ease on past the break.
The design of the UA case is simple. It is a vertical, pouch styled case. The exterior is leather while the interior is a soft fabric that protects your Windows Phone from scratches.
To the rear is a leather wrapped, rotating belt clip that holds the case securely on your belt. To the top of the case is an extendable leather flap that holds the Windows Phone in place nicely.
The cases are available in pink, black and tan leather and to help distinguish the case from similar the Unique Autosports logo is splattered across the outside of the case. It reminds me of the Louis-Vuitton luggage that has the company logo covering their products. The style isn't for everyone.
Fit and Feel
The Samsung Focus fit snugly in the UA Case. It rode a little high but the extendable flap easily reached over it. The case has a little padding to it which offers a decent amount of protection.
The advantage of having the Focus sit high in the case is that it gives you ample area to grip when removing the phone from the case. The downside is that it exposes more of the phone to the elements.
As mentioned, the case is fitted with a rotating belt clip. The clip holds tightly to the belt and the rotation is stiff enough to prevent the case from accidentally pivoting when bumped.
All in all, the case was comfortable to wear and offered decent protection for the phone.
With a more subtle logo, the Unique Autosports Vertical Pouch would be a very good leather case. As is, the quality is still very good but the style won't appeal to everyone. Maybe it's that the "UA" reminded me of my in-State college rival but I prefer a more discrete logo.
The case was comfortable to wear and my only nit about the design is that the Focus sat a little high in the case. The case will also fit the LG Quantum and HTC Surround, both of which should fit lower and more natural in the UA Case.
Again, to the cases credit it is well made and comfortable to wear and would make any Unique Autosports fan happy. The Unique Autosports Vertical Pouch will cost you $49.95, which is a little on the pricey side with more economical alternatives available if you're not a UA fan. You can find the UA Vertical Pouch over at the WPCentral Accessory Store.
