Windows 10 Technical Preview build 10041 ISOs are now available

When Windows 10 build 10041 launched to fast ring users last week, it was revealed that ISO files for each updated build would only come with slow ring releases going forward. Today saw that release and the ISO files are now available from Microsoft as promised.

If you plan on using the ISO files to load the latest build of the Windows 10 Technical Preview, we've put together a handy how-to guide for mounting the disc images and setting everything up, so be sure to check that out as well.

• Compressed OS - Windows 8.1 with Bing tablets - Anyone updated with these? Without faffing with USB OTG and driver reinstalls?
• Would not expect this until final release,
• I did with my Lenovo Miix 2 8"
• No issues with ISO upgrade? Mine keeps failing ALL. THE. TIME!
• I didn't use the ISO. I just went to the preview website and clicked the link, it ended up upgrading using Windows Update.
• havent tried iso yet, the windows update way of things keeps failing for me. i have the asus transformer book t100 series.
• And where's windows 10 phones march build?????
• Getting this.
• Nice. I already installed it with the fast build though.
• Impressive, if you know what I mean.
• Lol. I know what you mean.
• Hmm. They never updated the Enterprise ISO. Still on 9926.
• How big is the update?
• 3.4gb
• Got to use this. W10 wont load for me again. Makes laptop unresponsive from boot screw. Thank god for dual booting and isos
• Thought it said, " windows 10 for phones technical preview released '. Damn it
• Lol
• Lol wc guys are impatient as *%#
• Wc guys? Water closets? West coast? World champions? Won't commit? TELL US DAMNIT!
• Is this build worth installing on my surface pro 3? Also does any one know if one drive has place holders in win 10 yet? Thanks
• No and No.
• Actually, on my SP2 there were many issues with the previous build. The biggest one was battery. If put to sleep with a full charge, I would wake up to an almost dead battery. This new build fixes that. Although this build overall is not as good as the previous one. The start menu at full screen is a big huge fail, so is the new task viewer. It's just awful.
• Luv this new task view
• For me, I alwars change all power settings from Sleep to Hibernate. It's much better for extending battery life and only at the expense of a couple of seconds' wake up time.
• I installed it on my pro 2 and lost start menu/screen it kind of blows!
• These posts make me think they released another update to Windows Mobile 10. I'm so impatient with my 928 getting 10. xD
• me too... why is is taking so long for them to release a new build for phones? :c
• They're adding more phones. Patience :) it will release on Friday for phones.
• Gabe said that they won't release on Friday nor Monday
• adding more phones is no work for them... there was a hack allowing every phone to get a W10. i'd guess they mate quite a few changes and added lots of futures, and is therefore in an unstable condition... but pleeease could they speed it up anyway??? ;)
• You will burn in hell if not true, I will sit at home Friday and wait all day.
• Downloading just for collection :)
• I don't understand why they waited to post these. I had problems with a failed update and stuck in between not being updated and the update no longer being offered after reverting. It turns out the ISO is compressed in the ESD file and very easy to extract after downloading the compressed update. So why would MS wait to post this when consumer can so easily create for ourselves?
• Exactly mine question
• What's the size of ISO?
• Probably an internal testing/publishing delay. It's no real issue, anyone updating in the fast ring that had a problem would just roll the machine back and try again.
• YES!
• Whats new on this build?
• Lovely OS
• Driver problem Don't install it. MS already inform it on blog
• No driver issues for most people.
• might explain why i cant my VM to update
• The driver models have been updated to 2.0.. Atleast in my case the current amd driver is locking up my games and video on ie within 5-10 minutes. I have a 7950. I installed the beta 3 drivers from amd and the issue is toned down a bit but I still get app locks every hour or so. atleast with the beta drivers I can pull up taskman and kill the process. The 2.0 drivers are hard locking my system and the only option is to power off the system.
• Still pin login is not working
• why everyone stopped talking about next build for phones? it's a month and a half now and MS has done nothing !!
• My Lumia 630 is running Win 10 for phones & it's just installing an update now. No idea what it is, but it could be a sign that we're finally getting some movement on phones & Win 10?
• Everyone's stopped talking about it because MS has done nothing. There's nothing new, no additional handsets etc to talk about.
• Yay!
• Whomever is designing these new icons on Windows 10 should be fired. I drew better icons when I was 7, it's pathetic.
• You know it's a tech preview and not a UI preview, right? I actually quite like the icons in this build. Hope they stay!
• Yea these icons are clean.
• Any news on Win10 for Lumia Icon 929
• Finally. Was contemplating installing it over my install on my SP3 since I couldn't shrink it down apparently. Now I can use VHD boot again (since you can't updated the builds on VHDs).
• When preview will be available for other Lumia's phones?"
• No one knows. This article is about Windows 10, rather than Windows 10 for Phones.
• Can any one tell me it's available for HTC 8s windows phone if not then when it'll be launch plzzz I'm gonna crazy to install it
• This article is about Windows 10 - not Windows 10 for Phone. No one knows when Windows 10 for Phone will be released. Nor when there might be an update for the technical preview for phones.
• Amy way to get this via WU running 8.1? I couldn't install the previous version.
• ISO stands for I suck oranges
• Also for phones? A new slow ring update?
• No, only for PC.
• I couldn't see it on upate :/ and I am on fast rig. Now going to install using this. :)
• My tablet couldnt find it when i had fast ring last week. But now when they released for slow ring (which ive changed to since last week) my tablet got it and downloaded it. It looks better now in full screen start screen but still prefer windows 8.1 over this...
• When the consumer preview will be released?
• What about the ISO for Win 10 Enterprise? Only the previous version appears to be available.
• Where is the install log kept. I cannot install the TP on my i7-3770k system with an Asus board. It keeps rolling back. What am I missing? Any suggestions?
• No one here has any suggestions on how to get this to install on an Asus board i7 3770k
• The log file is found here. C:\Windows\Panther\setuperr.log
• I'm already on a previous preview version, but can't upgrade cause the installer says it can't install on an USB drive, but it's an SSD...
• Finally reverted back to Windows 7 on my acer5745G :) happy to test Windows 10 technical preview... :)
• Not available in sapnish though...
• Lost my surface 2 pro start menu/ screen :(
•
I installed Windows version Build 10 041, and found that after installation is completed, a lot of apps I installed previously failed. Every time I open the Store to reinstall, then an error message appears, I can not reinstall the app previously.
Please help!!!
