Windows Central photo contest: Microsoft hardware and devices!

To celebrate Microsoft's #Windows10Devices event in NYC, our next photo contest is themed entirely around Microsoft-powered hardware and devices.

It could be a Lumia phone, a Windows gaming rig, your personal Windows IoT creation or even an antique Microsoft track mouse!

Show us your Microsoft hardware snaps for a chance to win a Nokia Qi Wireless Charging stand! Details of the contest can be found below.

If you enjoy our contests, know that we've set up dedicated sub-forum in the Windows Central forums to keep the photo contests in one location. You should bookmark this page, so that you never miss a contest:

Windows Central Forums - Photo Contests

Here are the rules for this week's contest:

  • You must use a Windows Phone to take your picture.
  • You have to tell us what device you used to take the picture, and any photo editing software or apps you might have used. Altering your pictures is fine, be creative!
  • Feel free to add a little back story, we want to know how your picture came to be. If you have an Instagram feed or any other photography portfolio profile, feel free to link those for the community as well!
  • You must have used a valid email address to register here at Windows Central so that we can contact the winner.
  • We'll only accept ONE entry per person.
  • You must upload your picture to the contest forum thread. If you want to upload your photos directly from your phone, you can use the Tapatalk app to connect with our forums on your mobile device. To find out how to do that, head over to here.

Prize

One lucky winner will earn a Nokia Qi Wireless Charging Stand (opens in new tab), expected to be compatible with the upcoming Lumia 950 and Lumia 950 XL and indeed any Lumia that supports the Qi wireless charging standard.

We'll pick a winner Sunday night (October 11th, 2015) at 11:59 PM ET. Winners will be announced in a blog post following the contest. Submit your entries using the forum thread below!

  • Which type photos?
  • It says in the rules. You must use a Windows Phone to take the photo and then upload it to the forum thread :)
  • This contest is not fair... Daniel Rubino would probably win it hands-down :(
  • He is obviously exempt of participating, I'm sure.
  • LOL. I don't think he will compete :)
  • But how will I use my phone to take picture of my phone?:( I'll figure it out. :D
  • Just think Smoke and Mirrors...it'll come to you
  • A bathroom selfie? :P
  • That's for the next photocompetition......bathroom selfys.
  • That's the spirit!
  • Exactly ! Even if you have another phone it has to be a windows phone (contest rules)
  • Extra wide screenshot
  • I might even buy the Lumia 521 since they're so cheap LOL.
    .
    .
I have this cool idea for a picture. But, my 521 doesn't turn on anymore (battery problem). But then again if my 521 would still be working, I wouldn't have this Lumia 830 with me today. I just hope it's worth It lol
  • And the result of last contests?
  • Previous winner was announced over here, we've slightly altered the way we're doing these contests.
  • Which? The Windows 10 photo contest winners were announced on the forum thread.
  • Hello Michelle...What about the Sunshine photo contest?? Was there a winner picked for that one??
  • yes, still no result? :-?
  • That was announced 2 months ago. http://www.windowscentral.com/wrapping-recent-windows-central-contest-winners-gears-war-and-sunshine
  • How does one take a photo of the phobe using their phone. Only way I can figure would be using a reflection in a mirror. Then editing the photo to remove all unwanted parts of the image. Seems like a stupid ask of a competition.
  • The contest isn't the "Take a picture of your phone with your phone" contest. Seems like a reading comprehension issue.
  • It can be any Microsoft device :p be creative!
  • Be creative! Mirrors, reflections, grab a friend, etc. Or a Microsoft device that isn't your phone. ;)
  • You'll need to have two phones.
  • Its said that you can take a picture of a Microsoft thing like a old mouse or keyboard, your xbox.... Well just be creative and put it in a fashion way
  • Still I dint got how to upload
  • What do I do with a Wireless Qi Charger if my phone doesn't support it?
In India we say it- OLX PE BECH DO.. :p
  • Exactly...
  • Maybe this contest isn't for you. :P
  • Buy a better phone?
  • Visa Declined? :P
  • Lol...Nobody's gonna take you seriously with that name!!
  • You can sold it on eBay!! So i wonder which model it is ?? I already got the DT-910
  • That 8X photo makes me miss my 8X even more. I think I have an idea for the contest
  • 8X was a grand phone, my first Windows Phone <3
  • yep, same there!
  • Wait... Newly announced? now this post is truly future-proof
  • Shh ;)
  • Was there an edit? I dont see newly announced in the article?
  • The link to the forum thread to upload the photo to isn't working for me.
  • I really worry about some of the people on here. The rules are fairly simple to understand: Balance your phone on an acorn placed onto the back of a prancing unicorn then take a photo of your phone in the reflection of a fair maidens smile. Alternatively, take a photo of a Microsoft product with your Lumia (or any Windows phone) - how hard is that?
  • =D
  • How to upload photo
    ..:(
  • Where is the link to upload...
  • Sorry my bad. Posted via the Windows Central App for Android
  • Someone please take a picture of their Microsoft SideWinder game pad. It's its 20 year anniversary. Posted via the Windows Central App for Android
  • on "windows phone photography option " its only showing "photography lounge" in tapatalk app
  • Yeah same with me please help!!
  • can anyone help
  • How to download additional keyboard in wp10
  • Can anyone help
  • Yes, but you'll need to use the forums!
  • What about if I live in Mexico ?? Will I be able to participate??
  • Omg wish I was home I have everything Microsoft
  • Ex Microsoft (Nokia devices) allowed?
  • How are Nokia devices ex MS? And it seems fairly clear that the answer is: Yes
  • I have 4 of those qi charging stands and a DIY glowing stand, a 6th one would hurt...
  • Since I have Lumia 620, this contest is useless for me :(
  • Same here
  • Any news on who won the previous two photo contests? Still have not heard the results on those. It's been more than a couple of months. Have not seen any sign or message come by (I believe sunset and clouds were the themes).
  • http://www.windowscentral.com/wrapping-recent-windows-central-contest-winners-gears-war-and-sunshine and the Windows 10 contest winners were announced in the thread.
  • windows phone also have to take selfie itself ...
  • How to enter in this contest tapatalk does not show anything
  • Where upload photo ?
  • I clicked on forum thread, but it says that page not found. :D http://forums.windowscentral.com/photo-contests/386260-windows-central-p...
  • Same here!
  • What about the sunshine contest result? More than one month that the contest is over and still no word about who won. I'm sorry, but this kind of contest lost its credibility after this
  • It was posted 2 months ago. http://www.windowscentral.com/wrapping-recent-windows-central-contest-winners-gears-war-and-sunshine
  • When would Windows10mobile release..? Posted via the Windows Central App for Android
  • When you guys stop being idiots..
  • I might even buy the Lumia 521 since they're so cheap LOL. I have this cool idea for a picture. But, my 521 doesn't turn on anymore (battery problem). But then again if my 521 would still be working, I wouldn't have this Lumia 830 today.
  • Too bad I'm on WM10 Mobile. I can't take pictures reliably and when I do half the time they don't save. When they do, they are much worse than using Lumia Camera. My old 920 now takes better pictures than my 1520. :-S
  • FYI, link is broken towards the end (ref: "You must upload your picture to the contest forum thread"). The "L" is missing in ".html" it looks like
  • So I use my Lumia 1520 to take a picture of itself and upload it here for the competition, right? Genius
  • How do I enter the forum the app is horrible and barely works and won't let me upload a pic on it help!
  • What do we hash tag it for instagram?
