Windows Phone 7 + Zune featured in new Razorfish ad

Awhile back, Microsoft bought an advertising company called Razorfish, who now handles a lot of those video clips for them promoting their products. We like 'em. They even created that "giant interactive Windows Phone7 (opens in new tab)" we see at many events.

A few of them just created this "commercial" (opens in new tab) that highlights the power of Windows Phone 7 and the ability of it to sync with the Zune music/video suite. It's sort of an extension of the original Windows Phone 7 "features" video that made the rounds in February.

We're not sure if this is an "official" ad or whether it will be used anywhere but we think it's actually effective. And that, my friends, is something we're not used to saying about Microsoft when they pimp their products.

But what do you think? Is this the kind of thing that you think would grab people's attention? Let us know below and watch the commercial after the break.

  • I think the music seems abit off to catch the playfulness of the WinPho7. But the Visually I like the ad. And again with the music I don't what it is but I think that perhaps it just doesn't sound "young" then again MSFT is aiming it enterprise then consumer.
  • One of the most frustrating aspects of being a Microsoft fan is that they always seem to create excellent videos for the web, but the stuff they use on TV is horrible and becomes the laughing stock of the industry. This is a great video that should go to web AND TV. Maybe someone there will actually get a clue for Windows Phone 7 commercials.
  • I think these vids will be used on TV, why buy an ad company if you just use them for web only? Why limit it? I expect MS will flood the market with WP7 ads on TV and the web.
  • i like the ad! and i hope ms floods tv and the inet with wmp7 ads!
  • I hope that makes it on tv.
  • I like the video. This is exactly the thing MS needs to do. Apple has been GREAT at advertising their products making them feel like they make a person feel "special" and "unique" by having one of their devices. I hope that MS starts a campaign in the next couple months before the actual sale of the phones that focuses on presenting some of the features of the phone before people can actually buy it. Have it show some quick shots of some of the features and then have a final image that says, "Windows Phone 7. Coming October 2010. It's worth the wait." That would entice users to wait until this phone comes out before deciding to upgrade their iPhone or buy an Android or Blackberry. Just sayin'
  • The ad was wonderful but here I would like to say that unlike Windows Mobile, Windows phone 7 is firmly associated more with fun than work.
  • I can't start the Video: "technical difficulties" Maybe cause I'm from Germany?
Sometimes they (Youtube for an example) block EU/German IP Adresses... PS: E3 Expo starts on Monday. (with Microsoft Press Conference)
Maybe MSFT shows some WP7-stuff like Gaming/XBOX LIVE and ZUNE!
