Test your piano chops with the Windows Phone game Frederic, our myAppFree Deal of the Week

Frederic is a Windows Phone game that has you traveling around the world with the legendary composer Frederic Chopin as he is resurrected to prove that his music is still tops and save the music industry.
You get to battle opponents from the piano keyboard from across nine global locations. Think of Frederic as being a little like Guitar Hero but played from the ivories of a piano. In just tinkering with the trial version of Frederic, the game comes across as a fun way to pass the time with and most importantly, it is our myAppFree Deal of the Week (a savings of $1.99).
Frederic is filled with colorful animations and comic book transitions. Game play has you playing behind the keyboard with notes from several of Chopin's classical hits drifting down from the top of the screen. It's your job to tap the corresponding piano key as the note hits it. Hit the key too early or too late and the piano tune takes a turn for the worse.
The game has four difficulty levels (Too Easy, Normal, Hard and Chopin) with nine worldwide locations to compete from. If you aren't a fan of the comic book transitions, you can always tap the screen to skip them. But I have to admit, they are well done.
Game play does have a fast pace and will keep you on your toes. The animated background during game play can be distracting, adding to the challenge of game play. Overall, Frederic makes a nice first impression and if you've been on the fence about buying the game, now is your chance to save a little.
Normally priced at $1.99, through the myAppFree Deal Frederic will be free for the next 36 hours. The game pulls down a 4.5 Star rating in the Windows Phone Store and we can see the appeal. If you end up giving Frederic a try, let us know in the comments below what you think and don't forget to rate the game in the Windows Phone Store.
Note: It may take a short bit before the deal is reflected in the myAppFree Windows Phone app. However, the deal is already reflected in the Windows Phone Store listing for Frederic.

Piano hero!
-
Piano storage drain!

Came out in 2012. Which would make sense since it was during the Guitar Hero era.
-
That's a pretty big app!
-
My favourite composer! Gonna give this a try!

Simply change the region. And I know you know that.
-
Downloading it! Seems interesting. Btw do we have any app like this for Mozart?
-
Already owned. But my lumia 1320 always have this problem installing an app or game with high size. Is it my micro sd card's problem? What do you use ? Im using ridata 8gb class 10.
-
Does not seem to play well (pun intended) with my 930. The keys are basically invisible, all white.
-
Yeah. I think you may have to uninstall and then reinstall the game. The same thing happened to me and that was the only thing that fixed it. It seems like a massive oversight on the developers part considering the piano keys are crucial when playing the game..

Is worth downloading 500mb??
-
Yes. (From Windows Store) "Megatons of humor".
-
A game other than Eternal Sonata about Frederic Chopin, seems he's a popular subject for gaming in the music world.
-
I paid for this game a while ago and it's brilliant. If you like dj hero, guitar hero, tap tap revenge, DDR, beatmania, you will love this game.
-
Amplitude FTW!!!!
-
My gosh, it's almost a 500 mb download
-
(from Windows Store) "An hour of outstanding animated comic"
-
I want deemo...

Wow! Thanks for the article about this, and big thanks to myAppFree! Only played thru the first level, but it looks exactly like what I've been waiting for; a guitar hero type game on windows phone, but piano. And what a brilliant take on it! 5* premise! Just saw that it's also in Windows Store (808MB) for $5.99. Half that price and I would have bought it right off the bat. Now I'll try first.

Man, I didn't know Frederick had come to Windows Phone. That is great news.
-
well it was available since 2012, though, and me too, didn't know about this.
.
And anyway, 5 stars!
