You have an extra day to join the fight in Star Wars Battlefront's beta

If you've been enjoying the Star Wars Battlefront beta over the last few days, we have some good news for you.

Battlefront's beta, originally intended to close on October 12th, has been extended to October 13th to help EA conduct further tests on the game's online infrastructure.

A community manager from Star Wars Battlefront's official forums posted this message, along with a call to arms requesting more feedback:

..."Hope you're enjoying the Star Wars Battlefront beta and thank you for playing – every time you log on, it's helping us ensure the experience is going to be great at launch. As we get into the late stages of the beta, we will begin conducting further technical tests on our infrastructure."......"These additional tests will start on Monday, October 12 and will run thru Tuesday, October 13th, which will add an additional day to the open Beta. These tests are to help us find some extreme scenarios, and that means some players may experience occasional issues such as being kicked from the game or losing connectivity. This is all being done in the name of shoring up our infrastructure before we launch on November 17th."......"Please continue to provide your feedback around the Beta and we look forward to seeing you on the battlefront in November."...

The exact time Battlefront's beta will go dark is unknown. EA's Battlefront Twitter account stated that the servers will close at different times depending on platform and region, so make sure to jump in now if you haven't already!

..."The Beta will end on October 13. Exact times vary by platform and region."...

  • YES!!
  • Sweet, bloody love this game
  • Aye download this afternoon while it still can. Hope HD7890XT is good enough? Got a i5 5th gen as well with 8GB 2000hz RAM.
  • Should be enough. The game actually runs well (albeit at low detail) on my laptops i7 with GT640M. I haven't experienced any technical issues....just lots of deaths.
  • Woot!
  • The walker is exposed!
  • Played Sunday for nearly 2 hours; the gameplay was brilliant. Is definitely on my want list.
  • Is it cross platform?
  • I wasn't impressed. I wanted to be. The graphics were awesome. The gameplay was boring. I don't think battlefield is a good game in the first place, and this one is battlefield with a star wars skin. It's pretty, but lacks substance
  • I agree it got old quick, you've seen everything and repeating yourself by level 3. But it's a beta and most of the content is locked, it will be a great casual experience just like Titanfall was.
  • Like you said, it's a beta so don't expect a full game
  • I feel sad for people like you. Battlefield is the best fps you'll ever play and if you even mention cod I'll lose my shit.
  • The thing that CoD has that this does not are great campaign modes. If this game had a campaign I would be all over it. I tried the single player battle and it's just really boring, with no story to pull me in. The engine seemed awesome... I hope they will make a dlc campaign... I would then buy both the base game and the dlc. As is, I think it's a no sale for me. I'm just not into repetitive gunning multiplayer.
  • I disagree. I play CS:GO, in my opinion its far better than both of those. Perhaps because I'm used to an engine where you surprisingly can't shoot accurately while moving is why I'm so down on it. Never been killed by so many people who are dancing and jumping side to side before ever
  • n00b :P :P
  • I feel the same way. Graphics are good, but I too got bored with it. Yeah, it's a beta, but the experience was enough and it has been removed from my list of game purchases.
  • Battlefield is the successor to Battlefront. Much of the gameplay here is from the "Pick up and play" characteristics of the old Battlefront games. While it may get old quick for some, the nostalgia for the old games will keep. Many interested
  • I will most likely not be getting this game (definitely not at launch), but I'm a big gamer and a very competitive one at that. But if you are a casual gamer this game might be for you.
  • I was disappointed. Our team kept on getting spawned in bad spots and the teams never changed. I was on a team with mostly noobs and we got housed over and over. After a dozen housings I bailed. Single player swarms versus the AI was decent.
  • *hosed, unless you found new houses all the time ;)
  • I found this to be a fantastic game! I came off very impressed with the beta. It feels so very Star Wars, in all the right ways.
But, I won't be buying this at launch, Multiplayer only being the reason. With much less time on my hands and so many other games releasing around the same time, I just can't see myself picking up a MP only game.
    Down the road though? Probably.
  • However if it goes in EA's vault it might convince me to get EA Access
  • I mainly buy games for MP and after playing the beta I wish there was a campaign because then I'd buy it.
  • Like Destiny I really wanted to like this game. But just not enough substance to make it worth getting it. But its also one those games where if you come to it late it just watching yourself die repeatedly
  • Yeah I am not a fan of progression based unlocks. I don't game enough to make it worthwhile and then when I try to play a game like that I end up with 4 kills to 12 deaths. And then I remember what multiplayer gaming used to be like.
  • Wouldn't run for me...
  • After this my choice is: SWB when is out on ea access, Halo5 on day one.
  • Multiplayer spawn points seemed a bit wonky.  I'll be waiting to see how much content they have that isn't online multiplayer.
  • They said there is no campaign.
  • Not the same thing.
  • I'm not that impressed. It looks and sounds great but the gameplay is actually quite shallow. Plus matches just seem to be filled with people who just want to get the most kills and not actually doing the goals of the game. Too many times I seemed to be the only one on my team trying to capture or defend the points and yet the top killers are on my my team.
