The Ender Dragon is coming to Minecraft Pocket and Windows 10 editions

Minecraft fans playing the Pocket Edition and Windows 10 Edition beta will soon be able to take on the powerful Ender Dragon. As revealed by developer Mojang, both the Pocket and Windows 10 editions will get the chance to enter The End dimension with a forthcoming update to a significatnt version number, 1.0.

From Mojang:

We didn't pick that number for the lols. Our next update is packed with features but most significant is probably The End and its iconic inhabitant - The Ender Dragon. Though you can carry on playing after defeating the misunderstood beast, for many, taking it down is the ultimate goal in Minecraft. Something to aim for and achieve after hours of play. A tangible end-game for Survival players.

Should you defeat the Ender Dragon, you'll get a chance to explore the outer islands of the End and its mysterious End Cities, where a new Shulker mob and purple building blocks can be found.

Aside from the addition of The Ender Dragon, Mojang notes that the 1.0 update will also increase the world height to 256 blocks, allowing you to take your builds to new heights. More importantly, this update will mark near feature parity between the Pocket and Windows 10 versions and the original Java version of the game.
