Six-month Xbox Game Pass subscriptions now available at Amazon UK

If you're looking to subscribe to Xbox Game Pass, Microsoft's Netflix-like service for games, for the long term, Amazon is now offering up a six-month subscription for those in the UK.

Unlike Xbox Live Gold, which offers up subscriptions in various increments, Xbox Game Pass has only been available in one-month chunks since its launch last year. The new six-month option changes that, but whereas other subscription services may offer a solid discount for buying in for longer periods, that doesn't look to be the case here. Rather, Amazon UK is offering six-month subscription codes for £47.49, which is a savings of 50 pence over what you'd pay over six months by buying a month at a time for.

Still, if you're planning to stay subscribed for the next six months anyway, it's not a bad option. Unfortunately, the six-month option doesn't appear to be available in other regions just yet.

Xbox Game Pass offers up access to a library of more than 100 games for a flat $9.99 per-month fee in the U.S., or £7.99 in the UK. Buying in gives gamers access to major titles from the Halo, Gears of War, and Bioshock franchises. A big draw for the service is that every Xbox exclusive game will be a part of the service going forward. We're already seeing the fruits of that with Sea of Thieves, which only just launched, but is now available as part of Xbox Game Pass.
