Alcatel OneTouch Fierce XL leaked, may launch in December

It looks like Alcatel OneTouch is about to unveil a handset running Windows 10 Mobile targeted at the entry-level segment later this year. A recent tweet by Evan Blass suggests the phone will feature a 5.5-inch 720p display, Snapdragon 210 SoC, 2GB of RAM, 16GB internal memory, 8MP camera, 2MP front shooter and a 2,500mAh battery.

While Alcatel doesn't have much to show in the Windows Phone segment, the vendor showcased a prototype (pictured above) of the Pixi 3 running a build of Windows 10 Mobile Technical Preview earlier this year at Mobile World Congress. It will be interesting to see what the manufacturer brings to the table with the Fierce XL.

  • What's that wp7 flag button?
  • Haha, yeah, wtf?
  • I know this phone will not have Continuum. For continuum to work, you will need 2 cores for phone display, 2 cores for external monitor/tv, and 1 core for running W10M.
    .
In essence the phone needs 5 cores minimum which is why even the current premium phones like Lumia 930 / 1020 / 1520 cannot handle that feature but Cityman and Talkman will
  • That was a prototype. Maybe they were testing an old wp7 prototype with new hardware and W10M
  • Its a pic of an old phone (wp7). There are no pics of new phone..
  • It is quite clearly NOT running WP7!
  • This might actually be the new phone. All it needs is the Windows 10 buttons and its good to go.
  • Much better than the 640xl
  • No it isn't
  • Yeah.. 640xl is better.
  • You are drunk
  • Sashay Away.
  • And there is going to be no Rupauligizing done. 640 XL is way better. Posted via the Windows Central App for Android
  • No on screen buttons
  • Physical capacitive buttons are better than the on-screen ones ..... Trust me that's the only thing I hate about my 640XL
  • Funny I'm the opposite. After using my One, I prefer on-screen.
  • Hated the idea -> got 640 -> love on-screen
  • Capacitive buttons >>
  • Nope on screen keys win especially how you can hide them while you can't with capacitive and you accidentally press them while doing something plus you get smaller bezels and Posted via the Windows Central App for Android
  • On screen buttons FTW!
  • windowphone is no 1
  • I have the 635, but I'm like to buy the next Motorola Moto E 3rd generation, because I haven't my favorite apps. Clash of clans, boom beach, and if i have my favorite apps they dont is lukę Android. And in Android i can make multi-screen. On Windows Phone i cant.
  • I too feel the same.. Waiting for Moto g3
  • What phone you have?
  • Eh, the tweet states SD210, your article SD410. The whole thing is confusing if it's a SD210, the other specs (RAM/storage) seem high. The SD410 would suit more in that list. But for a low-end the SD210 is more logical. But then the other specs are more midrange.. odd. Still, good to see more 3rd parties jumping on the WM10 bandwagon, let's hope they stick with it
  • Force of habit. Corrected it. Thanks!
  • it seems like any handset with low end sd soc seems to have volte evidenced by android Posted via the Windows Central App for Android on WM10
  • The Fierce ANdroid devices were terrible. Let's hope this is better.
  • What the f? Old Windows logo? I am calling fake.
  • Its an old device. So the phone in the picture is a wrong. Thee will be a time when the new device is revealed.
  • microsoft keynote will be on 19 october in new york, thank me later
  • Any reference?
  • mr chan
  • The picture is fake!
  • The image is actually of an older device. The leak in question details the hardware.
  • Read the article.
  • Read the artice people.
  • 5.5inch + snap210? Hell no brother!
  • The battery is very small!
  • Low res screen, slow CPU, optimized OS: it should work well.
  • You apparently forgot the old 1020 and I'd assume 9XX series used 2000mah batteries... Lol. 2500mah for a low powered device is fine. Posted via the Windows Central App for Android
  • 2Gb and 16 Gb are very nice. But the 210, is too weak I think to power that phone
  • Probably 410
  • So now everyone wants to use the XL letters?
  • Just to mention outlook mail and calendar got updated for w10m
  • The Alcatel.shown here look's very much like, the Acer version of W10M, Shown a few days ago, if I'm not mistaken.
  • The old windows phone 7 logo is most odd
  • This phone is going to give a "fierce" competition to other OEMs...
  • YAAAAAAAAAAAAS.
    Except not really.
    Sashay Away.
  • It's just good to see manufacturers getting involved. The stranglehold of Microsoft hardware, as good as it is , needs to end with other companies getting involved. Would love to see Samsung and Sony bringing out some hardware to really get the ball rolling
  • I hate this make an announcement and release a device at least eight months later that is what Holding All of Microsoft ecosystem back Apple made an announcement yesterday taking preorders Friday for a Monday release good deal
  • Who announced?
  • We all knew there wouldn't be any Windows 10 phones til fall/end of the year. You think MS would debut their OS on an Alcatel phone?? Posted via the Windows Central App for Android
  • Didn't Nokia buy Alcatel?
  • Alcatel-Lucent. But Alcatel Mobile Phones is since 2005 independent company owned by TLC.
  • W-10 is all leaks
  • i want motorola to enter into windows phone market...
  • Since Motorola is no longer owned by Google and now owned by Lenovo, that may happen one day. Especially if Windows mobile finally hits it's stride with windows 10.
  • Yeah, or they can make way to install WM10, like MI4 does....
  • Maybe this is why 640 was pulled from tmobile.
  • A Snapdrgaon 210 with a HD screen and 2GB of RAM...
  • Snapdragon 210 is basically a SD400 with a lower CPU clock speed. It's also meant to power phones that sell under $100, $50-75 according to early articles... Should be a cheap phone. Posted via the Windows Central App for Android
  • I know what it is and that's why I laugh at it. A HD screen? Fine, I believe it can handle it. But it seems silly to give it 2GB of RAM.
  • Those specs aren't too bad for low-end.
  • I hope these OEMs flood the market with not just a bunch of low ended junk but market quality devices as well. Android has eaten by far both the lunch and dinner provided by Microsoft who would not even refresh the 1520's hardware.
  • Everybody can do windows phone, indeed.
  • Why not an idol touch version? Hell I hope xiaomi releases a redmi version, also oneplus. One can hope.
  • Alcatel was bought by Nokia, so is this really a Nokia phone?
  • No.
  • I know this phone will not have Continuum. For continuum to work, you will need 2 cores for phone display, 2 cores for external monitor/tv, and 1 core for running W10M.
    .

  • Was that Sd 210 a misprint? Maybe it was supposed to be 410. The rest of the specs would suggest the latter.
  • SD 210 looks sounds low budget
  • The 410 is low-end as it is...210 probably runs on the power of hamsters.
  • Finally, I've been waiting to hear about a budget device...
  • That Snapdragon 210 kills it sorry.
Should be the Snapdragon 410 Posted via the Windows Central App for Android
  • SD 210
