AMD announced its Ryzen Pro 4000 series of processors today. AMD designed the chips to power thin and light business laptops. According to AMD, the new processors have the "most cores and threads in an ultrathin business notebook." Devices with the new processors are expected in the first half of 2020. Specifically, AMD mentions that HP and Lenovo will have devices in the coming months that run on the new processors.

The new lineup includes the Ryzen 7 Pro 4750U, the Ryzen 5 Pro 4650U, and the Ryzen 3 Pro 4450U. Ryzen Pro 4000 series processors have up to eight cores and 16 threads. AMD states that the ryzen 7 Pro 4750U gets 33 percent better multi-threading performance than their competitors and 37 percent better overal performance in Microsoft Office applications than the previous generation of chips. The AMD Ryzen 7 PRO 4750U delivers twice the performance per watt over the previous generation, according to AMD.

The Ryzen Pro 4000 series processors work with several security features, including AMD Memory Guard. The processors fully support Microsoft Endpoint Manager, to provide an integrated cloud management solution. The Ryzen Pro 4000 processors also have 18 months of planned software stability and 24 months of planned availability.
