Best Buy shaves $100 off Acer's Nitro 5 for back-to-school season

With kids gearing up to head back to school, Acer and Best Buy are angling for your laptop dollars with a hefty discount on the Nitro 5 laptop. In total, Best Buy has has shaved $100 off the price of two different models, bringing the price of entry down to as little as $619.

At the top end is the Nitro 5 model with 8GB of RAM, 256GB of SSD storage, and NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1050 Ti graphics for $699. That's down from this particular model's usual price of $799. For $619, you can sub out a little bit of graphical power for a model with the same amount of RAM, but with a 1TB hard drive and GeForce GTX 1050 graphics. Both models pack Intel's 8th Gen Core i5 processor.

Both models offer enough power to get some light gaming in between study sessions, but you'll want to step up to the 1050 Ti if you need a little more oomph. But if you're worried about storage, you may want to stick with the $619 model to be on the safe side.
