Every weekend, Windows Central streams an Xbox One or Steam game on Twitch for 1-2 hours and gives out free games to the cool people who join us during the stream. It's like a live podcast, only you also get to watch a game while chatting with our awesome readers and viewers!
We recently revisited Brothers: A Tale of Two Sons, a beautiful puzzle and adventure game in which players must control two brothers as they work together to save their dying father. Brothers is available on every platform under the sun, including Xbox One and 360, PC, PlayStation 4, and mobile. Read on for quick impressions, contest winners, and our hands-on video!
Brothers: A Tale of Two Sons
From the mind of Swedish film director Josef Fares comes Brothers: A Tale of Two Sons, a critically acclaimed adventure starring a pair of brothers in a medieval setting. The two boys lost their mother during a tragic boating accident, and now their father may die from disease as well. Our heroes set out on a journey to save him, but it won't be easy.
Not only is Brothers a beautiful game with a stirring soundtrack, it also plays unlike any other game. A single player controls both brothers independently via the analog sticks. The left stick moves the older brother, the right controls the smaller one. The challenge comes from manipulating two different people at once, using them to solve puzzles and overcome obstacles. It really requires a different kind of thinking than most of us are accustomed to.
The Xbox One version of Brothers includes a bonus commentary video in which the director explains the creative decisions behind the game, as well as art and sound galleries. Brothers is a relatively short game, but an unforgettable one nonetheless.
The Contest
We streamed Brothers: A Tale of Two Sons for ~90 minutes. During that time, we gave out a total of 27 game codes:
- 10 for Xbox One
- 10 for PlayStation 4 (North American accounts only)
- 7 for Steam
