Core i7 Surface Laptop now up for preorder in burgundy, cobalt blue, and graphite gold

In mid-July, we discovered that Microsoft was gearing up to spread a little more color to its whole Surface Laptop lineup by expanding the cobalt blue, graphite gold, and burgundy color options to the higher-end Core i7 model. If you've been holding off on a purchase in anticipation of grabbing one of the new options, now's your chance, as Microsoft has opened up preorders in the U.S. and in the UK (via Neowin).

The new color options are available on two Intel Core i7 models. That means you can get either 8GB of RAM and 256GB of storage, or step things up to 16GB of RAM and 512GB of storage. Unfortunately, it doesn't appear that the 1TB storage option is available with the new colors; you'll have to default to the platinum color option if you need the extra storage space.

Pricing is the same as the platinum model in both cases, with options starting at $1,599 in the U.S. and £1,549 in the UK for the base i7 model. As for when you can expect the Surface Laptops to arrive, you'll have to wait a while; Microsoft indicates that units will start shipping at the end of October in both regions.
