It's really happening.

What you need to know
- Wasteland first launched in 1988 and is regarded as a cult classic.
- A few months ago, developer InXile Entertainment said the game was getting remastered for PC.
- Today, Studio Head Brian Fargo confirmed it was coming to Xbox One as well.
The original Wasteland is regarded as a cult classic, and many months ago, developer InXile Entertainment confirmed that a remaster was heading to PC. Since then, we haven't heard much about the title, but at E3 2019, we received more information. InXile's Studio Head Brian Fargo said that Krome Studios was handling the Wasteland remaster, and that it was also coming to Xbox One.
No release date was provided, but given the enhancements it's receiving, it may be a 2020 launch. Hopefully a concrete release date will be announced soon because a lot of gamers have been waiting patiently for this title. The original Wasteland inspired games like Fallout and is regarded by many as the godfather of the modern post-apocalyptic role-playing game.

Wasteland first came out in 1988 and takes place in 2087, 89 years after an all out nuclear war between the United States and the Soviet Union turned vast swaths of the Earth into a hellish wasteland. Survival is a daily struggle against thirst, hunger, radiation, raiders, and mutants. You step into the shoes of a "Desert Ranger," the remnants of the American Army who survived the nuclear holocaust by holing up in a maximum security prison. You're the only law around.
