Does Surface Pro X come with a keyboard?

Best answer: Unfortunately, the Surface Pro X does not have an included keyboard. However, you can buy one separately from Microsoft, and there's a bundle available that includes a Surface Slim Pen too.Keyboard only: Surface Pro X Keyboard ($140 at Microsoft)Bundle: Surface Pro X Keyboard and Pen ($270 at Microsoft)Get the device: Surface Pro X (From $999 at Amazon)

Should you get a keyboard with the Surface Pro X?

While you don't technically need a keyboard to use the Surface Pro X, it's still an excellent idea to get one for it, as without one, you can't use the device as a laptop and are limited to tablet mode. Being able to type is incredibly useful, and it's what will allow you to get most types of work done.

If you're looking to get a keyboard for the Surface Pro X, you have two options: a standalone keyboard, or a more expensive bundle that includes an Alcantara variant of the keyboard as well as Microsoft's new Surface Slim Pen. This pen will make it significantly easier for you to use the touch screen on the Surface Pro X for things like note-taking and drawing. Ultimately, the option you should choose depends on whether or not you're going to get use out of the pen, as you can save quite a bit of money by opting for the standalone keyboard. Be aware, though, that it likely won't be as comfortable to use as the Alcantara keyboard from the bundle. Unfortunately, you can't get a version of the Alcantara keyboard without the Surface Slim Pen, but that will hopefully change in the future.
