Don't forget to claim your free channel subscription on Mixer!

It applies to folks who were at level 10 and above on Beam prior to the rebrand, which didn't take a lot of getting to and will have covered off a fair chunk of the members.

Subscriptions are how you can help support your favorite content creators, by throwing a little money their way. It only applies to Beam Partners, but the list of those is growing by the day, and you'll get some kind of perks thrown in for good measure.

AND HERE COMES THE SHAMELESS PLUG.

Windows Central is a Beam Partner and subscription to our channel offers many exclusive benefits. Where else will you find Daniel Rubino, Jez Corden and Zac Bowden emoji? Where else will you find a dancing Phil Spencer?!

Of course, your free subscription is yours to do as you wish with, but it's there to claim and it's a nice way to support the creators you enjoy the most. Honestly, you don't have to give it to us, but we do appreciate every single subscriber, follower and casual viewer who drops by our Mixer channel. Hopefully it's at least mildly entertaining for you!

To claim your free subscription, hit the subscribe button on your favorite channel and you'll see a redeem gift option show up as an option to use. Go forth and support!

  • Sorry used mines on a good friend who is partnered
  • No need to apologise! We're just having fun. That's what it's all about!
  • Says 5.99$ hardly free
  • If you have a free sub to use when you first click that button you'll then see the option
  • Mmmm okay...
  • So Level 10+ got Mixer Pro free for a month and level 50+ got it free for a year. How does that work with subs--I have a sub to give away to a Mixer Partner streamer every month?
  • Just one gift, you can use it on any streamer. :)
  • Okay, I subscribed to Windows Central, and I see how to use the special emojis, but how do I do or see this Dancing Phil Spencer thing? I typed !commands, which took me to this page, where it said something about !phil, but typing that into chat didn't do anything, so I think I don't quite understand.
  • It's only when we're live dude :)
  • Ah, okay, thanks. I thought it would work since you were cohosting VR Heads. I'll wait till the next time you're live to make Phil dance like he wants to.
  • So as a viewer you have to pay?
  • Zeroplanets, no Mixer is all free. As part of the Mixer launch, they gave people with level 50 a free 1 year Pro subscription and people with level 10 a free $6 credit to support their favorite streamer of choice.
  • Ah ok. Makes more sense now. Thanks.
  • Almost forgot, users with level 50+ also get the free credit. The nice thing about supporting WC with this credit (if you don't have favorite streamer) WC already gives away a lot of great games on it's streams and they've said they'll use the money to give us more. :)
  • Why should I use Mixer at all when Microsoft doesn't support it on their mobile phones?  Microsoft can bite me.
  • Aww man, don't say that! If they listen to you, they'll end up rebranding biting™ to something completely different that makes less sense but they have a better chance of keeping a trademark on, like snorfling or something. Or they'll change it complete to Mastication of an (In)voluntary Subject Using Bilateral System 2.0.
  • It's funny because it's true ;)
  • That's your choice but for most people it doesn't matter. Their mobile phones are no longer even a little bit relevant. It works in Edge for me which is good enough for the moment.
Mixer is a great platform. There's going to be barely anyone else with your opinion so it's your loss.
  • I'm with ScubaDog I have a Windows phone and no mixer WTF?? My band2 just broke, no support for that also. I have been an Xbox member for 14 years. I'm started to doubt Microsoft and it's hardware and software.
  • I wish Windows Central would update the schedule on their Mixer homepage, each week, with the day and time of their next broadcast. I keep missing the live podcast when they broadcast other than Fridays at 2:30 PM ET (1:30 CT). Maybe a message saying "No broadcast Friday at 2:30 PM ET". Oh well, I can just watch the recordings. Best Wishes
  • Re: Greg Milligan, Mixer is a relatively new purchase for Microsoft.  Maybe they will add a Windows Mobile app.  I haven't heard anyone from Microsoft actually say that there will be no Beam (Mixer) app on Windows Mobile.  Either way, I won't quit Windows Mobile.  Support what you like or be part of the problem. Best Wishes
  • subscribed, and was greeted with confetti! Looking forward to Jez playing his favorite console (PS4) on Mixer now :D
  • You forgot the Paul emote.....
  • It would be better if you went to Twitch until Microsoft fixes that broken ass site. On your last stream, it did not work in IE11 or Firefox; had to use Chrome. Them there are the various bugs, etc...
  • Did it pretty much straight away. Was a nice surprise just like the year Pro sub and 50K sparks.
  • Redeem code asks for a gift code???
