Fortnite now supports Xbox One X in 4K, Skyrim and Fallout 4 are on the way [updated]

For a while now we've known that The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim - Special Edition and Fortnite would be updated to take advantage of the console but we didn't know when we should expect the patches. The good news is that Fortnite has been properly upgraded for Xbox One X and Epic Games says that the game "now supports Xbox One X in 4K".

It's unclear if this is native 4K or checkerboarded 4K — or another upscaled solution — or how it compares to the PlayStation 4 Pro version. The last update Epic Games provided was that it ran at 1080p with added effects on the PlayStation 4 Pro but the resolution may have been upgraded since then. Hopefully gamers will be given more details about the upgrades soon so a true comparison is possible.

Update 11/28/17: Bethesda confirmed that Fallout 4 and Skyrim: Special Edition's Xbox One X patch would be available on November 29, 2017. It's unclear what changes in particular the updates bring as they weren't provided by the publisher.
