Expedia app for Windows Phone gets fresh redesign, car rental bookings

Booking your next trip just got a little bit nicer thanks to the latest update to the Expedia app for Windows Phone. The latest version, which comes in at 2.2, features a new design that helps distinguish between categories a little better, along with the addition of rental car bookings. Here's the skinny on what's new in Expedia 2.2:

  • VROOM VROOM! Put the pedal to the metal as soon as you land now that you can book a rental car in the app.
  • Improved navigation! Colours now properly distinguish travel category (hotels, flights and cars).
  • Fixed! Said "Goodbye!" to some bugs.

Overall, the design revamp looks nice and fresh. And while this does feel like a universal refresh, it's unfortunately not. The update is available on Windows Phone 8.1 and Windows 10 Mobile, but not PC. Still, if you'd like to check out the latest Expedia update, you can go ahead and grab it from the Windows Store link below.

  • Nice! However I tend to find better prices on kayak.
  • What's funny is Expedia owns nearly every booking site.
  • As far as finding a hotel...Trivago

  • I think it's good that there is a slight expectation that PC apps should come with mobile apps.

  • Yes, lets keep the updates and new apps coming!!
  • How about giving Windows users the same coupon codes as iOS and Android users?
  • In Europe I think booking.com rules the online booking scene, but it doesn't have an app. Expedia, Agoda and Hotels.com do have one. Agoda has the better app, but expedia has better prices in some countries. Anyways, if I can avoid booking.com because of the lack of a WP app I do and go straight to the Expedia app. Unfortunately Expedia doesn't give you triple points when booking via the App which Androids and iOS do get.
  • Expedia got an update on desktop too
  • I love updates
  • Nice! This app looks good, but it still does not support Australia yet!!
one of the most popular hotel booking apps in AUS is booking.com and that doesn't even have an app!
  • I mainly use Expedia for booking flights, but this app doesn't support booking for children; that's a MAJOR fail...
