These top-notch deals on one of 2025's best new games is even better than Black Friday's — my friends and I love it, and play all the time
Elden Ring Nightreign — and access to its new DLC — is even cheaper right now than it was during Black Friday.
During the holiday season, the best deals on offer tend to be those live during the coveted Black Friday and Cyber Monday sales event that immediately follows American Thanksgiving at the end of November. In some cases, though, even better discounts come after that big weekend of deals.
Such is precisely what's happened with Elden Ring Nightreign, one of 2025's best new games. FromSoftware's standalone roguelike spin on its beloved award-winning 2022 action RPG is normally $39.99, and its Deluxe Edition with the new The Forsaken Hollows DLC has an MSRP of $54.99.
Thanks to some killer deals, though, you can get the base game on Xbox for just $19.99 at Woot! and the Deluxe Edition for only $29.99 at Woot! (the PS5 version is marked down to $32.99; use the dropdown on the page to select it if you play on PlayStation). That's 50% and 45% off, respectively — the best discounts I've ever seen for the title.
"Elden Ring Nightreign is an even bigger experiment for FromSoftware than Elden Ring itself was, and overall, it was a worthwhile one. ... I've had a blast playing through this creative co-op roguelike remix that distills Elden Ring down to its core combat mechanics while allowing us to play with them in unique ways and giving us incredible new and returning boss fights to master." — Brendan Lowry, Contributor

Nightreign is a blast, and just got DLC too
Elden Ring Nightreign stands as one of the most experimental games that FromSoftware has ever made, and one that I wasn't sure how I'd feel about in the days and weeks leading up to its release this spring. Once I got my hands on it, though, I quickly fell in love with this bold three-player co-op spin on the studio's normal "Soulsborne" formula.
The best way to describe Nightreign is as a remix of the Game of the Year-winning 2022 megahit Elden Ring that takes away its focus on careful exploration and thoughtful, longform buildcrafting.
Instead, it promotes speedy adventuring and roguelike-style upgrade hunting in a shrinking map that's full of enemy camps and minibosses to fight, with major boss encounters (including some from FromSoftware's previous titles) at the end of each of its "days," and one Nightlord boss that serves as the ultimate target of each "Expedition" run.
In this way, it's almost entirely centered around Elden Ring's refined stamina-based Soulslike combat mechanics, and throwing yourself into as many engaging battles as you can to level up and get stronger as you zip around. There is a story here — told almost entirely through the individual narratives of the characters you play as — and it's quite good, but it definitely takes a backseat compared to games like Dark Souls or Elden Ring itself.
Speaking of those characters, there are 10, each with unique synergistic abilities and stat spreads that cater to specific playstyles. Two of them are included with The Forsaken Hollows DLC that just came out, along with two major Nightlord bosses, a fresh map to play on in your Expeditions, and the inclusion of several encounters from Elden Ring's 2024 Shadow of the Erdtree DLC.
Access to The Forsaken Hollows is included with the Deluxe Edition of the game, though if you opt to get the Standard Edition, you can also buy it standalone for $14.99 at a later time (it's sold as the Deluxe Edition Upgrade).
All in all, Nightreign is a ton of fun if you enjoy FromSoftware's Soulslike combat, and a fresh and fast-paced way to experience it compared to the studio's normal action RPGs. My friends and I have had an absolute blast playing it together, and still do all the time, so I can't recommend it enough.
