What you need to know

  • The first Halo Infinite technical preview is now live for players in the Insider program who signed up and were granted access.
  • Many players are having problems connecting to the dedicated servers for matchmaking.
  • Given the nature of this preview as a technical test, server instability is to be somewhat expected.

The very first Halo Infinite technical preview is now live, with players who properly signed up for the test now accessing Slayer against Bots, a first for the Halo franchise. Unfortunately, we're seeing many players having issues connecting to matches, including some of our own staff.

Rebooting the application or cold booting your console doesn't seem to help. We are however seeing some success with players joining the lobby of a friend and then being able to load into matches. If you're running into other problems, we're keeping track of a list of bugs and known issues that 343 Industries identifies or numerous players seem to be encountering.

One particularly common bug right now says that an update is needed before players can fully download the Halo Infinite technical preview build. Fortunately, this one is solved by simply cold booting your console.

Halo Infinite is currently slated to launch at some point in Holiday 2021 on Xbox Series X, Xbox Series S, Xbox One and PC.

  • At least they got their halo waypoint code :P I can't even get on the site to get mine lol.
  • Can't get to the site to get my Steam key. Wouldn't it be simpler for everyone to just send it in the email??? Jeez.
  • One day there is going to be a developer (publisher?) who correctly estimates the server requirements for a beta game release. One day.
