The HTC 8X and HTC 8S is readily available in India, with the likes of retailer Saholic stocking both the flagship and mid-level Windows Phones for Rs. 34,149 ($624) and Rs. 19,359 ($354) respectively. We've just covered news that Lumia hardware will be heading to the market early 2013, but it's good to see other Windows Phones available in the meantime, and HTC hardware isn't necessarily a bad choice.
Being HTC's high-end device and the signature Windows Phone, the HTC 8X boasts an 8MP BSI rear camera (with 2MP front-facing camera), dedicated HTC ImageChip, 1080p HD video recording, 4.3 '' 1280 x 768 Super LCD 2 display, dual-core 1.5 GHz Snapdragon S4, 1GB RAM, 8 or 16GB internal storage, 1800 mAh battery, NFC and LTE.
The HTC 8S sports a 3.8" display, dual-core 1GHz Snapdragon chip, 512MB RAM, 4GB internal storage (with MicroSD support) and a 5MP camera. While a mid-level Windows Phone, the 8S isn't a slouch by any means (should you be able to work around the limited internal storage).
