Kinect on Windows Phone 7 [Video Demo]

One of the handful of new features heading to Windows Phone 7 is Xbox Live Kinect interface. The interface turns your Windows Phone into a companion for the Kinect gaming system. The above video demos the potential this integration has. No time frame on when such integration will be available was mentioned during Microsoft's Keynote Address at the 2011 Mobile World Congress.

The new feature will definitely expand the Windows Phone 7 role with Xbox Live and make Kinect gaming a lot more interesting.

  • Conceptually it looks pretty sweet. I just hate it when they try to add too much of the excitement factor. Sure it's fine for a comercial on MTV (or whatever the kids watch these days) but to have that at the MWC is kinda pointless. I would love to see a little more explaination on the details, not just a fantastical demo of something that may not be released for a year or so if at all.
  • LOL. I am on a mac and I can't watch this. Oh, the irony.
  • You're on a Mac and can't do something? I'd call that typical. :-p I kid, I kid.On the feature, the video is cute and integration is nice, but I'm not really sure what other fun uses they can come up with beyond the example.
  • Hah, yeah I'm a mac user but I do love the Windows Phone. It's just different and I like it. Blame Silverlight, not mac :)
