Marketplace app gets on-phone update

We saw the Web portal to Windows Marketplace for Mobile go live earlier this week, and now the one-device app has gotten a refresh as well.

So what's new in Version 1.1.1109.0000? Visually, nothing. Everything looks the same. Perhaps just bug fixes? (We were having problems with the Marketplace apparently hanging as it was installing the occasional app. The app itself would load just fine, but the Marketplace app balked.) Perhaps more behind-the-scenes support for things to come? Security fixes? (Update: Just read over the advanced security white paper again, and it does tie in with the Marketplace app, so that's a pretty good bet.)

    Just took a look at the white paper again, and, yeah, that's probably what this is.
  • I cant use the marketplace on my 6.1 device anymore...the update always fails..
  • Same here, the update fails to load on my Omnia i910... ERROR
    Windows Marketplace for Mobile cannot connect right now. Try again later.
  • No problems here. Ran a Sprite Backup before the upgrade just in case, but the Marketplace starts and loads selections without issue.
    Are the affected users getting this error upon startup or when trying to install an app from marketplace?

  • Ok, for those who are getting the "Windows Marketplace for Mobile cannot connect right now. Try again later." I have been able to duplicate the error occurring w/ the hacked version of Marketplace that comes from XDA which allows storage to SD card. After un-installing hacked version & replacing w/ default Marketplace software, it updates properly now. I uninstalled default version and re-installed hacked version I got the error message again. I finally un-installed hacked version again and re-installed default version and now everything is working again. Hope this helps!
  • for me updating marketplace worked excellent with no problem at all. people get win mobile6.5.1 which is what i have and dont know if it will insstall on 6.0 or 6.1 i believe it will update fine has people arle so newbiies and needs know how update or install things.
