What you need to know

  • Skype has a new icon on Android devices.
  • The new icon features Fluent Design elements.
  • Skype on iOS received the same new icon earlier this week.

The Android version of Skype has a new icon featuring Fluent Design elements (via Windows Blog Italia). The new icon matches the icon that rolled out to Skype users on iOS earlier this week.

Several Microsoft icons have been refreshed recently, including OneNote, Your Phone, and the Office suite.

The new Skype icon is less of a drastic change than some of the other icon redesigns. It flips the white and blue elements of the design and adds some shadow effects.
