Ring in the holidays with free Christmas albums on Groove Music

If you're in need of some holiday tunes to help ring in the season, Microsoft has your back. Right now, you can pick up 9 free Christmas albums (opens in new tab) through Groove Music from a variety of artists, including Ariana Grande, Mary J. Blige, Rod Stewart, and Trans-Siberian Orchestra.

Here's the full list of free albums up for grabs:

According to the Windows Blog, this promotion is only supposed to be open to Groove Music Pass subscribers. That being said, we've been able to snag the albums on an account without a Groove subscription, so it they look to be free for everyone. Still, you'll only have through 11:59 p.m. PT on tonight (December 2) to grab the albums for free.

Thanks to Schmitty03 for the tip!

  • Hm, interesting. Removed that mention for now. Thanks!
  • $12.99 isn't very free. Canada region.
  • In Canada, got them free. Had to get from website though, weren't showing as free in the windows store. It'll try to automatically launch the store, just got back to webpage.
  • To add, the store webpages (launched from the links in article) was showing the US region. But worked for me.
  • Thankyou, worked a treat :-)
  • Same here. Account is set to US, but I'm accessing from Spain. Web says "free" and app says "pay". Still got them.
  • Yeah the store link doesn't work but the webpage does. Thanks.
  • Got them all but I really only wanted How Grinch Stole Christmas and Charlie Brown Christmas :).
  • "Thanks for the tip, Schmitty03!" Oh you're very welcome, Dan
  • Woops, my bad. I honestly hadn't seen the tip before writing this up. Thanks, though!
  • No worries. But thanks for the add to the bottom of the article!
  • This is kinda a crappy collection....no wonder its free. I wouldn't buy any of them.......well maybe the orchestra one.....
  • It's not Christmas if I don't hear "Silent Night" from the Temptations.
  • Downloaded the Motown Christmas album, hope there's some Temptations.
  • It is.
  • Agreed. Was a staple in my household during the holidays.
  • Exactly. It's the SONG
  • Got the albums in Slovakia trough the links. They had opened the Store but there the albums weren't free. I clicked the free button on the website instead and after that the albums appered in my Groove app.
  • Well im in europe in bulgaria and i see it as free....
  • Free in my country. Panama

  • Thanks for this news. Love me some Motown, Trans Siberian Orchestra and Rod Stewart Christmas music. Bring on the snow, and Merry Christmas to all.
  • Got mine free....yeah....using my Lumia 950....yeah x2
  • Where does it explain how this works? How, exactly, do we ZUNE music pass subscribers (aka Xbox/Groove) get this music? Where and which button do I click? Any help is appreciated.
    Best Wishes
  • All of these are utter drivel, I wouldn't even get them for free
  • Isn't it nice how peoples tastes vary? And isn't it odd how some people feel a need to express their opinion, even on stuff they couldn't care less for?
  • Justin Bieber? Ariana Grande? Seriously?
  • Only free when using the links; not when searching through the Store. Thanks for the tip!
  • The links worked for me, cheers!
  • Merry Christmas!
  • The Music Deals app is the best. It provides updates on all music deals. 😊 But I still miss my $14.99 Zune/Xbox Music program.
  • Thanks got all of them.
