If you're looking for a cheaper way to hop on the Windows Mixed Reality train, Microsoft is offering a pretty solid Black Friday deal on Lenovo's first headset. Through November 27, you can grab the Lenovo Explorer for $299 on the Microsoft Store, which is a $100 cut from its usual $399 price point.
The Lenovo Explorer is much like the other Windows Mixed Reality headsets available from other companies. The headset operates via inside-out tracking through cameras flanking each side of its front. Each camera allows the headset to track the motion controllers in your hands, as well as the space around you.
Also, like the other headsets, the Lenovo explorer works via a single cable running to your PC with the Fall Creators Update. Powered by your PC, the mixed reality experience runs on two 1440 x 1440 LCD displays in the headset. In our review, the Lenovo Explorer turned out to be a pretty solid offering for getting into Windows Mixed Reality, even if we had a couple of gripes.
If you're in the U.S., you can grab the Lenovo Explorer Windows Mixed Reality headset now for $299 at Microsoft.
