What you need to know
- Microsoft slashed prices on its Surface Book 2 lineup this week.
- Both the 15-inch and 13-inch models are on sale, dropping their prices by hundreds.
- The biggest cut is to the 15-inch base model, which is available for $500 off.
It feels like this year is the right time for Microsoft to release a Surface Book 3, but if you're looking for a solid deal, then the Surface Book 2 is currently available for a heck of a discount. Both the 13-inch and 15-inch models are now on sale at Microsoft, with the biggest price cuts hitting the larger of the two. As spotted by Neowin, you can save up to $500 on the base 15-inch configuration, dropping its starting price down to $1,499.
The discounts on the 13-inch configurations are all of the more modest variety, but they're still pretty alluring. The entry-level 13-inch configuration now starts at $999, which is $150 cheaper than it usually runs. If you max all the way out with the top-end 15-inch model, you'll pay $2,969, which is down from $3,299.
Though the Surface Book 2 is kitted out with Intel's aging 7th and 8th Gen Core i5 and i7 processors, it still packs a punch. That's particularly true on the Core i7 models, which include discrete NVIDIA graphics. If you'd rather snag a solid deal than wait for the Surface Book 3, then these are worth checking out.
