Seagate announced at CES 2020 a new family of FireCuda and BarraCuda external SSDs for gamers and creators on the go. Designed with the company's own FireCuda Gaming Dock in mind, these new external storage solutions are speedy, reliable and look outer worldy.

Inside the FireCuda external SSD, you'll find Seagate's premium FireCuda NVMe 510 SSD and a lightning-fast 20Gb/s USB interface, offering data transfer speeds of up to 2000MB/s. While not quite as speedy as internal NVMe drives, these portable SSDs are ideal for gamers on the go with capacities of 500GB, 1TB, and 2TB all wrapped inside a chisel metal enclosure with RGB lighting.

The BarraCuda is a little slower, coming in at up to 540MB/s, but offers the same capacities of 500GB, 1TB, and 2TB. This drive also lacks configurable RGB lighting, but does rock some green glow and Seagate Toolkit can be used for backups and syncronizations.

The FireCuda Gaming SSD will be available from $190 in March with a five-year warranty, while the BarraCuda Fast SSD will launch in February with a three-year warranty from $95.
