Star Wars Battlefront II's first gameplay trailer offers look at battles across the eras

Though an early leak may have spoiled things for some, EA officially unveiled our first look at the gameplay of Star Wars Battlefront II during the publishers E3 2017 briefing. Taking place largely on Naboo, the trailer offers a solid two minutes of action across the eras of the Star Wars universe.

Developer Dice looks to be ratcheting things up in every way with Star Wars Battlefront II, offering even more maps to explore, hero characters to play, and ships to pilot. On top of that, the game is addressing one of the biggest criticisms of the first entry by including a full single player experience in addition to the online multiplayer. Even better, EA has promised plenty of free DLC and no season pass.

Star Wars Battlefront II is set to launch on November 17. A multiplayer beta is expected ahead of time, with preorders gaining early access.

  • Looks great. And no season pass.
  • Love the fact that there's no season pass
  • Game of the year candidate. Looks awesome
  • With each damn movie or game, Yoda seems to be getting younger and younger.
  • Holy Hell, this game is pretty.
  • I'm trying to not get as excited as I did when I first heard about the first one, but this is looking more and more like the first one should have been.
  • Yeah, and I'm interested in seeing the storyline from the other side. I just hope it isn't a case of the protagonist being "conflicted" about their actions, I'm really curious to see things from the ground level as the "enemy" who believes that what they are doing is actually right.
  • Yeah, sounds like a great take on the story.
  • Same here. I was really disappointed with the first one, but as you said It's looking like what was anticipated for the first one. I know I'm going to buy it, but no preorder.
  • Anyone notice a possible clue to The Last Jedi in that footage?  Rey is up against Kylo Ren in a new setting.  Maybe just part of the game, but....
  • In the press conference they did mention that you'll see some parts of The Last Jedi. Pretty sure I didn't dream that part.
  • Remember: No pre-orders!
  • Ugh that was goood.
  • Looks good, but the trailers made the last one look great too. I'll just have to wait and see.
  • Also, here is hoping for space combat.
