GAMING As part of Blizzard’s 35th Anniversary celebrations, Hearthstone is shattering the timeline with its upcoming expansion: Cataclysm.

GAMING Blizzard has locked in dates for a new multi-part showcase event covering all of its major franchises.

Gaming Eagle-eyed followers spotted melting necklaces, sloppy playing cards, and questionable anatomy in the Diablo Immortal x Hearthstone crossover marketing — once again sparking the debate about the use of generative AI in gaming.

This year will mark the biggest changes for Hearthstone since its 2014 release. We chatted with two developers about the new expansion, core set refresh, and the Mercenaries game mode.

Hearthstone will be releasing a new core set of 235 cards to refresh the game and make it easier for new players to try. Fans of the original sets can play in a new Classic format.

Hearthstone is releasing a new mini-set and updating its battleground and duels modes on January 21. A new solo experience will follow on February 2.

Players will now collect achievements and can complete weekly quests.

Scholomance Academy will introduce 135 new cards to Hearthstone, including 40 that can be used by two classes. Preorders are open now and the set will launch in early August.
