What you need to know

  • The Windows 10 19H2 update is now being offered to all Insiders on the Release Preview ring.
  • "Seekers" can now manually request the update to build 18363.329 via Windows Update.
  • Ten percent of Release Preview Insiders will see the update offered automatically.

After initially making the Windows 10 19H2 update available to a small group of Release Preview Insiders last week, Microsoft has now opened the build up to everyone. Anyone enrolled in the Release Preview ring can now "seek" the update by requesting it manually via Windows Update. Once you do, you'll be offered build 18363.329.

Further, Microsoft has also started testing its throttled delivery for automatic rollouts. While anyone in the Release Preview ring can now manually request the update to 19H2, 10 percent of Insiders in the Release Preview ring will see build 18363.329 offered automatically.

The build available to Release Preview Insiders doesn't include all of the features that have been enabled on the Slow ring so far. Because of this, Insiders who are currently on the Slow ring won't be able to switch to the Release Preview ring until Microsoft says they can make the switch.

The Windows 10 19H2 update is the next feature update that is expected to launch later this fall. As opposed to the major feature updates we've seen released previously, 19H2 is much smaller in nature, more akin to a service pack for the 19H1 release. Microsoft has larger changes in store for the 20H1 release, which is expected in the first half of 2020.
