Windows Phone sync app for Mac OS X updated to support Windows Phone 8.1

The Mac sync client for Windows Phone has received an update to support Windows Phone 8.1. Version 3.1.0, available now as a free download from the Mac App Store, also brings with it "various UI improvements" and drag-and-drop support for DNG files.
The Windows Phone sync app for OS X lets Mac users sync their iTunes libraries to their Windows Phones and import photos into iPhoto and Aperture, and opens up the media portions of the Windows Phone for browsing.
Mac users can grab the update to the Windows Phone app from the Mac App Store now.

He put those dots, because HE KNOWS, that im right
-
Do you know when the update for developers will be available?
-
I wish there was an article titled "Everything you need to know about the 8.1 update" or something like that on the top of the homepage.

Erm...I'm pretty sure Joe tweeted about it being early next week?

_-_–_-_-_
-
Derek, it's DMG not DNG files. D(a)NG. EDIT: Oh, never mind. Ignore my stupidity.
-
Pretty sure it's DNG.
-
It depends whether you're referring to an imaging format developed by Adobe or the Mac file image format (like .iso). I assumed the latter.
-
DNGs are raw image files. DMGs are Mac install files, which have no purpose in a Windows Phone sync app.
-
OK, apologies. I assumed far too quickly in an area I don't know about that much (and actually I don't use any apple products except when absolutely necessary).
-
Hopefully it's been updated so it's not the most unstable app ever developed.
-
interesting, i can't recall having any issues with it
-
I hope this version works! I haven't been able to easily sync for ages. Nice to see at least some hybrid love.
-
I just want to say for the record, that all though it is always cool and good news when apps and services are bieng updated in order to drive WP adoption... You have to be a special type of strange to have a Mac but also a windows phone...
-
I am strange. Who else is strange?
-
I'm strange also, but I did say special type of strange.
-
Why is that strange in any way whatsoever?
-
Strange becasue you do not see that often someone who has a Mac usually would love apple products and love their Iphone and shun windows phone with all their might.
-
As a guess that's probably correct for now, especially given how small the WP market share is. I tend to enjoy macs, and I have bootcamp in case I need to run something on Windows. Some of us still manage to stay agnostic more or less :P
-
Why? Cause you don't have one?
-
Have what? Mac? No, not my thing. WP phone? I sport my Lumia Icon all day every day.
-
I guess I'm strange too then. If your going to drop $1200 on a high end laptop, its nice to have resale value left after a year or two.
-
>implying resale value means anything
-
it does, i've sold my used MBP before and put the money towards a new one
-
Me too! Special type of strange right here!
-
I'm also quite strange as well. EMBRACE THE STRANGE. Seriously though, not all(heck, I'm sure most) people don't love anything, let alone a corporation(i.e., Apple) to the extent to shun products from their competitors.
-
I'm here :)
-
That is probably the weirdest statement IMO. I have a mac, a Windows Phone and an Android tablet and they're all tied together with Microsoft's services. I really don't know why I have to be strange in your opinion.
-
This is good news!
-
I love my Mac but got sick of waiting for a bigger iPhone and love my Lumia 1520!
-
The desktop version (Windows 7) received te update too!
-
Finally! I hope they fixed music syncing. I can't delete songs through the app and it put 3x for each song.
-
8.1 mentioned, I CAN'T TAKE IT ANY LONGER!!!!! Posted via the WPC App for Android!
-
UI improvement? How about functionality improvements. But I look forward to testing it out.
-
Nevermind. It doesn't work at all. It crashed upon start up. Good job, Microsoft!
-
Did you get it working? Installed and it doesn't work!
-
Nope. This version is COMPLETELY broken. Really angry at Microsoft. As much as I love WP8, this is the reason I'm about ready to jump ship and go back to Android.
-
They really need to sort it so you can pick your music by Albums and not just Artists... trying to string together all the artists from the right album is a pain. But it generally fucks up on the phone anyway as it puts each artist in their own album and then you have 20 albums of the same thing!
-
Just try to use windows media player.
-
Needs a new logo/icon
-
The PC client is a joke. Still missing Zune.
-
Earlier than windows version. Sad but true.
-
remember when they said you would be able to just plug the phone up usb and copy things straight to it. when i tried windows phone it diddn't work. so i went back to iphone.
-
Laughable comment.
-
Excellent! The DP release might be imminent.
-
