WPCentral new writers: RogueCode and Rafael Rivera

Howdy folks, as we prepare to head into 2012, WPCentral is going full speed ahead with continued changes and expansion. Recently you may have noticed our side bar (to the right) got a minimalist make-over, stripping it down to the basics as well as adding new functions (e.g. latest forum posts). That should help with load times as well as make the site cleaner and less cluttered. We've also added a 'Developers' category a the top-bar, which will just show dev related stories.

That leads us to our two new contributors to the site:

  • 'Roguecode/RogueMat' - A Windows Phone developer by trade, he's been responsible for such apps as Ffffound, Tweet this Song, Metro Wall and Relaxify. He also has a few things to say which is why he'll be occasionally writing some posts for us from a developer's perspective. In addition, he'll be helping out in our forums, specifically the Dev section. Follow Matt on Twitter @roguecode and check is swanky website here.
  • Rafael Rivera - Does he need an introduction? He's one-third of the ChevronWP7 Labs team (Long Zheng and Chris Walsh being his partners in crime). He's also quite versed in all-things Microsoft, often tearing and breaking down apps to find how they work. Heck, even co-wrote a book. He's also not shy about leveling criticism where he thinks it is due--which is why he'll probably yell at us for posting this ;-) Having already written a few stories for us, Rafael will be concentrating primarily on security and privacy in relation to Windows Phone, but in reality he can write on whatever he feels. Have questions about an app? Wonder how something works? Ask him and he'll probably get cracking on it. Find him on Twitter @withinrafael, read up on his thoughts at his site WithinWindows and check his about page to learn more.

So please give them both a warm welcome. This is all part of our continued effort to bring you the latest, informed news as well as original content to help you better understand Windows Phone and perhaps maybe gain some new insight. Don't forget, in a few weeks version 2.0 of our app will be ringing in the new year too in addition to some more changes!

Editor-in-chief

Daniel Rubino is the Editor-in-chief of Windows Central. He is also the head reviewer, podcast co-host, and analyst. He has been covering Microsoft since 2007, when this site was called WMExperts (and later Windows Phone Central). His interests include Windows, laptops, next-gen computing, and watches. He has been reviewing laptops since 2015 and is particularly fond of 2-in-1 convertibles, ARM processors, new form factors, and thin-and-light PCs. Before all this tech stuff, he worked on a Ph.D. in linguistics, watched people sleep (for medical purposes!), and ran the projectors at movie theaters because it was fun.
