Xbox Live: Bug Village update squashes broken Achievements

Everyone expects a game like Bug Village to have lots of bugs in it – ants, bees, and whatnot. But when the Windows Phone version launched a few weeks ago, it was infested by a few software bugs, and nobody likes those. Thankfully Babaroga and Glu Mobile worked quickly to kill off the worst offenders.

Bug Village version 1.1 release notes:

  • When resuming the game via Fast App Switching, task timers now advance correctly
  • The ‘Air Freshener’ Achievement (Kill 100 stinkbugs) is now attainable
  • The ‘Ding!’ Achievement (Reach level 25) now unlocks at the correct time

Previously, players really couldn’t use the Fast App Switching feature since it paused the game’s timer. With the game’s tasks all revolving around passing of the clock, the last thing you wanted was for the timer to stop and halt your progress. Fast App Switching now works fine (though it did crash on me once), a chime signifying that the timer has advanced when resuming. As for the Achievements, several players have already unlocked the full 200 GamerScore since the patch went live - definitely a nice improvement.

The developers still plan on future updates that will add new content and further refinements... Hopefully that means those stinkbugs and ladybugs will get easier to tap! To learn more about Bug Village, check out WPCentral’s developer interview and premium content analysis.

Bug Village is a free game with optional paid DLC. Get it here on the Marketplace.

  • I'm confounded why I find this game so compelling. Also was willing to pay just because it accepted MS points. Developers take note.
  • Crud game, nice to see them update it tho.
  • Pdlc is nice. I'm only buying or when I really seriously need coins. (if the game at one point requires)
  • I haven't had a stink bug, lion ant, or lady bug appear for days they should fix that bug.
  • Never heard anyone else complain about that...might be pretty limited.  VERY glad to hear I don't have to backout of the game every single time.  That was really annoying when trying to do the 5 Min task of the middle pile.  I went from maybe 25% chance of spenting points to 90% chance due to a developer caring about their product.  The coins are way too expensive though...
  • move your houses and decoration around. sometimes they spawn under those...
  • Did this update fix anything? Pests and ladybugs still don't appear for me and the screen goes black whenever I move over certain areas
  • the only fixed achievement related stuff...
i'm still getting black screens when i zoom or move the camera.
  • Update doesn't make it any less boring to play.
  • Im glad that they fixed the achievement. I find the game boring and if you were to play this game without cheating it would take forever.
  • I don't cheat...still no stink bug cheavo.
  • This game is still broken for me as well, no bugs (pests) and black screens....
  • Black screens for me over heavily populated areas. You can try to rearrange of course. It may help. Coins for additional houses way too high. Decent game of course.
  • Also. You can change the clock setting on your phone if you do not want to pay to hurry. Hint, hint.
  • Crap, I also had high hopes, but still no stinkbugs :(
  • My bug village stopped working and even with the update it wont work.....
  • i have this a lot with other games as well... try rebooting your device. usually that works for me to reset cache or some other thing that might be responsible for this.
  • I've rebooted, Yanked battery, etc, no change. How do you "reset cashe" on a WP7 device ?
  • Can't buy anything in the game :'(
