You can now easily add Shutterstock images to presentations within PowerPoint

Microsoft has teamed up with Shutterstock (opens in new tab) to add integration within PowerPoint in order to offer access to the vast collection of images for use in presentations. If you're one to head to Shutterstock (or similar stock photography and image service) for content to spice up presentations, you'll be pleased with the new integration within the suite itself, which should make your life that little bit easier.
All that's required is a plug-in to be installed and support will then be unlocked for PowerPoint 2013, 2016 and Office 365.
You'll — of course — need a Shutterstock account. But once you're signed in and ready to go, PowerPoint will let you search for stock images from within the suite using keywords and more. It's a neat addition, which should enable creators to really spice up their presentations.

So when you say Office 365, does that mean those of us using the Office apps from the Windows Store (but paying for Office 365), will be able to make use of this new feature? Even if not, this does seem like a neato addition to PowerPoint capabilities. +Surface Pro 3 i5 256 GB 8 GB Windows 10 Pro

This is just for the desktop apps AFAIK - Office 365 versions of the 2016 apps work slightly differently to versions bought outright in terms of updates and new features etc. But this looks like a normal Office Add-In that works on the desktop versions. They are basically web apps that embed into the Office app and can insert content into the document

Thanks for the clarification. I didn't know that bit about O365 v Retail versions of Office. If I need to be "productive like a boss" + Shutterstock=I'll download desktop version of PP. +950 XL DS NAM CV Windows 10 Mobile

The web based plugins could theoretically come to the mobile apps in the future. That's one big advantage they have over the "old way" of developing Office Add-Ins. I hope they do this in the future, and although it's not really part of Office in the way the UWP PP, Word etc. apps, the Outlook Mail app on Windows 10 could really benefit from some of the Plugins available in Outlook Web Access and Outlook Desktop.

I'm hoping that eventually these plugins come to the mobile/tablet (UWP) versions of the apps. After all the add-ins you would create these days are web based and that's good because it means they can be universal themselves to an extent. Hopefully we get an update to the iOS and Android versions with support for that too one day, unless they do already have it and I've missed that.
