Celebrate Halo's 15th birthday with a few iconic Xbox gamerpics!

Exactly 15 years ago, the original Xbox hit store shelves in the United States. As Microsoft's first endeavor into the console gaming space, the system launched with a range of exclusives hoping to drag gamers towards the platform. One of those titles was Halo: Combat Evolved, which soon emerged to be an iconic part of the Xbox lineup.

In commemoration of the franchise's 15th anniversary, 343 Industries has released a range of goodies for Halo fans. Among these is a range of new Xbox gamerpics, available to all Xbox Live members on Xbox One and Windows 10. These can be found under the profile customization screen or as a part of the following ZIP file.

Halo 5: Guardians players are also in for a surprise, with the introduction of the new 15th Anniversary REQ Pack. Accessible to fans who log into Halo 5 between today and November 22, the pack grants access to the following items:

  • Mark IV Armor & Helmet
  • 4 SPNKRs
  • 4 CE Magnums
  • 4 Halo 2 Beam Rifles

Over the period, players can also hop onto the 'Anniversary Throwback Playlist' in multiplayer matchmaking. Featuring six classic Halo: Combat Evolved maps remade using the game's Forge mode, players can relive the past in 4v4 Team Slayer and CTF matches.

Will you be trying out the new Halo gamerpics? Or hopping into matchmaking for the new Anniversary playlist? Make sure to let us know in the comments!
