As Gamescom 2018 gets started in Germany, plenty of gamers are getting a peek at what's to come from publishers over the coming months. For fans of the Ace Combat series, the biggest news is that the next entry in the franchise, Ace Combat 7: Skies Unknown, is now has a release date: January 18, 2019.
Alongside the release date announcement, Bandai Namco also put out a thrilling and dramatic trailer, offering a look at some of the dogfighting action you'll take part in when you take to the skies in January.
Ace Combat 7: Skies Unknown will be set on the Unsean continent that starred in the third and fourth entries in the series. The story will pick up as the Second Unsean Continental War kicks off, tasking players to take on a new threat posed by "an army of pilotless jets."
Ace Combat 7: Skies Unknown will hit Xbox Ond and PlayStation 4 on January 18. PC gamers will be able to pick up the game a little later on February 1 on Steam. If you're ready to take the fight to the skies, the game is up for preorder now for $59.99.
