All Halo: The Master Chief Collection Insiders can now play the preview build

Almost a year ago, 343 Industries said that Halo: The Master Chief Collection (Halo MCC) was getting enhanced for Xbox One X. Aside from upgrading the resolution, the team would fix matchmaking and all the other online issues that still plague the game years later.

Over the past few months, the studio has conducted numerous tests to ensure the fixes worked as intended. However, access to the Halo MCC preview build was limited to a select number of Insiders. Luckily, that's changing today because everyone who registered to be an Insider will be able to download the new client. A post on Halo Waypoint went into further detail.

Everyone who is a confirmed, registered... Insider as of Monday... will be included in this group...go to the Xbox Insider App to opt-in and find the... build. Once installed, you're up and running.

If you want to participate, remember to do so through the Xbox Insider App.

This test focuses on the campaigns, custom games, forge, and theater. Unfortunately, there are a few issues which the team is aware of. For example, "Intelligent Delivery" causes some corrupted files to be downloaded. Apart from that, there are audio or lighting problems in Halo: Combat Evolved Anniversary and Halo 4.

Hopefully 343 Industries will completely fix Halo MCC this time around. The whole network code had to be redone.

Halo MCC was quite a big deal when it came in 2014. For the first time ever, The Master Chief's entire story was available on one console. The game features a remastered Halo 2: Anniversary, along with Halo: Combat Evolved Anniversary, Halo 3, and Halo 4. You can also purchase an Halo 3: ODST add-on for the title if you like.
