AMD gained four percent in discrete GPU market share in the final quarter of 2019. Jon Peddie Research (JPR) reports that AMD's discrete GPU market share rose from 27.08 percent to 31.08 in Q4 2019. AMD still trails NVIDIA by a sizeable margin but continues to grow. NVIDIA held a 68.92 percent discrete GPU market share last quarter.

Market Watch recently reported that AMD topped NVIDIA in overall market share in Q4 2020. While AMD still trails NVIDIA in some key areas, AMD's cards seem to be gaining traction at a steady rate.

JPR highlights that discrete GPUs were in 31.9 percent of PCs in the final quarter of 2019. This important segment of the market has increased in competitiveness over the last few years.
