Apex Legends gets powerful new weapon (update)
Is this a hybrid weapon?
Updated February 20, 2019: Respawn revealed the Havoc Energy assault rifle today. You can watch a lengthy trailer of the weapon below.
This month, Respawn Entertainment — now owned by EA — launched a battle royale experience called Apex Legends. There were rumors that it would be a free-to-play version of Titanfall, but it's more along the lines of Overwatch. The game seems to take place in the Titanfall universe, but it doesn't feature mechs or any other towering contraptions you can control. It's a standard run-and-gun shooter, where each character has various special abilities.
The developer keeps on releasing new content for the game, but in the past that's mostly been skins. Luckily, that's about to change very soon! Respawn just revealed a teaser trailer for a new weapon coming to Apex Legends tomorrow. The clip is quite short so it's hard to ascertain what type of weapon it is, but it looks like a Power light machine gun or some sort of hybrid weapon which has an assault rifle and shotgun mode. The shotgun seems to fire energy projectiles though. We'll keep you posted as soon as we know more. Until then, speculate away!
