Boss Update for Minecraft Pocket Edition and Windows 10 delayed due to Creeper bug

Minecraft Pocket Edition for Windows Phone and the Windows 10 Beta were due to pick up a large update today adding ocean monuments, up to 20 slash commands, the Wither and Guardian boss battles, and more. Additionally, the Boss Update will bring the first layer of add-on customization to the game, allowing players to edit existing mob's skins and behavior using tools as simple as Notepad and MS Paint.

Sadly, the update has been delayed due to a rather aggressive bug.

Minecraft PR lead Aubrey Norris tweeted that Pocket Edition and Windows 10 Beta players would have to wait a few extra days for the boss update, due to a bug that allows the game's iconic Creepers to explode through walls.

For those who may not know what this bug could entail, refer to the video of our own Zac Bowden encountering a Creeper below.

Poor Zac.

The Boss Update is another step towards Mojang's goal of bringing the various Minecraft editions into closer parity, ahead of allowing Xbox One, Pocket Edition and Windows 10 players to play together on the same dedicated Realm. We'll let you know when the update finally arrives!

  • Creepers explode through walls? Challange accepted!
  • Haha, I kinda liked the sound of it too
  • My son was eagerly awaiting the update and thought this bug would have been interesting.
  • I really doubt that the W10M Pocket Edition will get Realms support, it doesn't even have Xbox Live support!!!!
  • I wish you would have told this yesterday and said oh wait to the last minute instead
  • You could have still released that and fixed that bug and released a update in a couple days
  • They should first fix lag problems.
  • You should have a more powerful specs in your phone, it's not always the game that lags, it's the performance of your device. If you have like lumia 520 don't expect awesome performance on it
  • I wish they would just make it an Xbox Play Anywhere title... I already own the Windows 10, Pocket edition, and the Xbox One version; just let me sync my worlds across devices!
  • I don't think they can until feature parity is achieved. After that, then we can assume is just for more money.
  • MC StoryMode episode 1 is free on Android and iOS, yet it's not even available on WM. Sigh.
  • The embedded video doesn't play
  • Xbox live achievements please !!!!!!
  • Wish this supported continuum
