Diablo-like 'Shadows Awakening' goes up for preorder on Xbox One

According to Kalypso Media, Shadows: Awakening is a new adventure in the "Heretic Kingdoms" saga. PC players will immediately recognize the name because it's a staple series on the platform. However, Shadows: Awakening is making its way to Xbox One on September 4, 2018. The game is a substantial twenty-hour experience and even features voice actors like Tom Baker.

Shadows: Awakening is a direct sequel. After members of the "Penta Nera" secret council are assassinated, their souls are consumed by evil "Devourer" demons who possess the ability to absorb the memories and personalities of their victims. As a result of this, the now-demonic Penta Nera emerge from the darkness of the "Shadow Realm" and continue their quest for power and immortality.

Just like Diablo III, Shadows: Awakening is an isometric action game with tactical combat. However, there's a twist! This time around you take control of a demon who has to consume the souls of long-dead heroes. The question you must answer is who is in charge of your actions. You can determine whether to save the world or lead it to ruin. You also have the ability to seamlessly switch between the "Shadow Realm" and moral plane, giving you a glimpse into parallel dimensions during gameplay. This mechanic is similar to games like Giana Sisters: Twisted Dreams.

You can currently preorder Shadows: Awakening on the Xbox Store for $42.49, reduced from $49.99. Those who get it early gain access to the "Legendary Armory Pack" which includes some amazing weapons and armor.
