New live-action DOOM trailer is better than that dull 2005 movie

On the same day that the closed multiplayer beta test begins for DOOM, Bethesda Softworks released a one-minute live-action trailer to promote the upcoming reboot of the DOOM first person shooter franchise that's coming to the PC, Xbox One and PlayStation 4.

Bethesda says the trailer was directed by Joe Kosinski, who also was in charge of the films Tron: Legacy and Oblivion. It shows DOOM's space marine going up against a ton of the game's colorful demons with lots of shooting, explosions and guns. In short, the 60-second trailer is tons better than that DOOM feature film that was released in 2005. Not even Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson and Karl Urban could save that dull and dreary movie.

Again, the closed multiplayer beta test for DOOM begins today and runs through April 3. If you haven't received an invite, you can get one for free on April 1 beginning at 6 pm if you go to your local GameStop store. The full version of the first person shooter will be released on May 13.
