What you need to know

  • Fallout 76 has gotten a special Double XP and Purveyor sale weekend in lieu of recent events regarding the coronavirus.
  • The weekend starts at 12 PM ET/9 AM PST on March 19 and ends at 12 PM ET/9 AM PST on March 23.
  • The Purveyor sale allows players to buy Legendary items for a 25% scrip discount.

Fallout 76 developer Bethesda Game Studios has announced in a blog post that Fallout 76 is having a Double XP and Purveyor sale weekend due to the recent outbreak of the coronavirus around the globe. The article states that Bethesda "would like to do what we can to help pack a little more punch into your weekend in case you're cooped up at home."

Players will be able to level up faster and get more perk cards to utilize with Double XP, and people who travel to the Berkeley Springs Station to see the Purveyor vendor can also purchase Legendary armor and weapons for a full 25% discount. To buy from her, players will need to first convert some of their unwanted Legendary items into "Legendary scrip" by visiting a Legendary exchange machine, which can be found all over the map at train stations. Then they can use the scrip to buy her Legendaries.

Overall, I think it's really cool to see Bethesda do this, as there are no doubt plenty of Fallout 76 players who are trapped in their homes right now who could use a reason to smile.

Fallout 76 is available now on Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC.
